BPD ‘Brandy Cask’ has been carefully selected to be the first ever single cask release from the BPD bond store. It consists of a single 30L ex brandy cask that was matured for a little over 3 years. The result is a beautifully crafted single malt whisky, perfect for the festive season. Copper and maple syrup in colour.
Toasty, sweet and sour on the nose, with notes of baked Anzac biscuits. Soft on the pallet with bursts of fruit acidity reminiscent of a fine cognac, as well as nougat, marzipan and spiced cherryripe, with just a touch of oak bringing in some buttery vanilla creme caramel. The finish is baked pears and cracked pepper. Bottled at 45.64% abv.

This is one amazing dram. You guys were right to be so excited about it. Tried it next to the whey stout in a tasting, another amazing drop. This one though was something else. So smooth. I am a peated man personally and so wasn’t sure how I’d go with this one as it isn’t peated at all obviously but wow, I was happy. It has a smoothness that gives an impression it is considerably older than it is. Well done, what a treat.
